The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth (Pages 1-20)

On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus,

Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature.

In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene— during the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness.

John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. They were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.

Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry.

Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.

The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of, and will cut him to pieces.
